The colour develops within 48 hours

When you rinse off the gel, the tattoo is light grey. This is normal. The genipin oxidises gradually. Within 24 to 48 hours, the deep blue-black colour appears.

Don't panic if it looks pale at first. That's how you know it's working.

How to use the gel — 5 steps

Dispense

Transfer gel into a cone, applicator bottle or squeeze tube. Wear gloves — jagua stains fast.

Prep the skin

Clean with soap and water, no lotion. A light exfoliation beforehand improves stain quality.

Draw

Screw on the applicator and press gently. Freehand or using a stencil.

Leave to dry

Leave on the skin for 2 to 3 hours. The longer you leave it, the more intense the colour.

Rinse and wait

Warm water. The tattoo starts grey — full blue-black develops in 24–48 hours.
