The colour develops within 48 hours

When you rinse off the gel, the tattoo is light grey. This is normal. The genipin oxidises gradually. Within 24 to 48 hours, the deep blue-black colour appears.

Don't panic if it looks pale at first. That's how you know it's working.

How to use the gel — 5 steps

Batch your cones

Wear gloves. Fill ~50 cones or applicator bottles from the pouch. Each cone takes ~20 ml.

Freeze

Store filled cones in the freezer (−18 °C). They keep for up to 2 years. Thaw one 30 min before a session.

Prep the skin

Clean with soap and water, no lotion. A light exfoliation beforehand improves stain quality.

Draw

Screw on the applicator and press gently. Freehand or using a stencil.

Rinse and advise

Warm water. Tell your client: pale at first, full blue-black in 48 hours. Share aftercare tips.

With a full litre, proper storage is essential:

  • Best practice: Fill your cones or small containers on the day of delivery, then freeze everything at −18 °C. This avoids repeatedly opening and resealing the pouch.
  • Freezer (−18 °C): up to 2 years — whether as the full pouch or in pre-filled cones
  • Fridge: up to 3 months (opened or unopened)
  • Room temperature: 30 days max
