Ink Wash Fox Tattoo

Sharp lines on the face, everything else dissolving into wet brushwork. The tail is one broad sweep of ink and the back throws a spray of spatter upward, straight out of sumi-e painting. It is the only piece in this format that is not trying to look dangerous, which makes it the one that works on a shoulder or a thigh as easily as an arm.

At 15 × 23 cm the brushwork keeps its texture rather than filling in. That matters here more than on the other designs: the whole appeal is the loose, wet edge, and it needs the size to survive.
